On Saturday June 9, 2007 the veterans, citizens and
businesses of the Hudson Valley came together with
one voice to honor and pay tribute to all veterans,
specifically two Sgt. Ed Ryan's representing two generations
(no relation) World War II and the Iraq War
at the pristine Mountainville Manor (http://www.mountainvillemanor.com/index.htm) with over 125 in
attendance.
On behalf of all of America's Veteran's a big Airborne and Semper Fi! to
Legendary Musician Simon Kirke for his unwavering support of our Veterans
and the American VeteransAid Fund. It is his music, talents, and most
importantly his extraordinary compassion and unselfishness
that are the hallmarks of this great man and legend.

It was my distinct honor to visit with American Hero
(recovering from traumatic brain injury) Sgt. Eddie
Ryan, Scout Sniper, USMC, Iraq and co-honoree at
our
VETUNESTM event presenting him with a check
for $1000 with the funds being raised by The Mountain
Laurel Post 8612, Veterans of Foreign Wars-US,
Milford, PA.
Warriors, Our Brothers All: AVAF Inaugural Event 6.9.07
On Saturday June 9, 2007 the veterans, citizens and businesses of the Hudson Valley came together with one voice to honor and pay tribute to allveterans, specifically two Sgt. Escorted by Paul Hastings, Community Outreach Volunteer of the Wounded Warrior Project, warriors Spec. Robert Loria, US Army Iraq (Middletown, NY) and Lance Cpl. Ian Lennon, USMC Iraq (Long Island, NY) also received due honors and recognition from the American Veterans Aid Fund and the Walter E. Hughes, Tri-State, Mid-Hudson Chapter of the 82
nd Airborne Division Association.
VETUNES, The music industry division of the fund, sponsored the entertainment featuring local talents BWillie performing his veteran tribute song "Johnny" as heard on WTBQ, and
Walter E. Hughes, Founding Chairman Walter E. Hughes, Tri-State, Mid-Hudson Chapter 82
nd Airborne Division Association playing his country stylings, humor and stories and Friends of Chapter Member Greg Kelly, Simon Kirke 70's Super Group founder of FREE and BAD CO performed his classics and new material along with Larry Oakes of FOREIGNER.
A highlight of the evening included the two Sgt. Ed Ryan's, the Wounded Warriors, Simon Kirke and Larry Oakes autographing the donated BABICZ Guitar to be auctioned off raising funds for the American Veterans Aid Fund and the veteran community it serves.
