August 10, 2009 Central Valley, New York: The American Veterans Aid Fund has launched the initial phase of its Great Cell Phone Drive for Veterans in the Hudson Valley.

“This is a great time for this fundraising program as the going back to school cell phone upgrades are made people can donate their old phone to help raise direly needed funding for our veterans in this difficult economic climate,” said Greg Kelly, Director American Veterans Aid Fund. “It also provides the opportunity to remind people to shop locally and support the local businesses that our communities are built upon.”

Four initial cell phone drop boxes have been strategically placed in local businesses that care for their communities and our veterans and their families. The locations are:

1.                  Irelands 32, Suffern, NY on Orange Avenue

2.                  Frans Hallmark, Monroe, NY on Route 17M

3.                  The Bright Star Diner, Central Valley, NY on Route 32

4.                  Dragon’s Den Deli, Cornwall, NY on Main Street

The American Veterans Aid Fund is currently searching for other community minded businesses to place cell phone drop boxes and civic organizations to assist with its Great Cell Phone Drive for Veterans in the Hudson Valley.
