Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York – The American Veterans Aid Fund is announcing changes to its operational role in raising direly needed funds and the distribution of the funds to better serve our Veteran Community and their Families.
Previously the American Veterans Aid Fund (AVAF) and its music industry division VETUNES® worked to raise funds for individuals, having to verify documents, personal and other pertinent information related to each case submitted. The fund will no longer be accepting individual claims for assistance but will be supporting the work of other legitimate, Nationally Recognized, Veteran Organization’s based upon evaluations and determinations from the AVAF.
The exceptions to this are funds received in support of the Cpl. Joseph S. Tremblay Tribute and Assistance Fund with the donations being determined solely by his father Goldstar Parent Lawrence Tremblay, Sr.
“We are still Mission First, People Always! We have just streamlined the process of delivering the much needed funds to our Brothers/Sisters-in-Arms and their families,” said Greg Kelly Director. “Our website is going through changes to reflect our adaptive operational role in this economy.”

American Veterans Aid Fund (AVAF), a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, was established to assist veterans and their families in obtaining and maintaining the respect, dignity, and honor earned through their service and sacrifice. AVAF has a relationship with veterans, their families, and veteran organizations based upon mutual regard and shared visions for a better tomorrow as well as common interests and values.
What defines our character as veterans is the bond formed through our military service and that bond follows us into civilian life. It is because of this special connection that we are sensitive to the reality that other veterans may not be as fortunate as ourselves and therefore may need assistance beyond what government funds and programs are available or can provide.
At AVAF, we recognize that this is an unprecedented time in the history of veterans in the United States. A rapidly aging veteran population from World War II and Korea presents unique challenges today, especially in terms of medical and housing (assisted living) needs.
Combat does not end when one leaves the battlefield. From Vietnam to the Iraq, Agent Orange to Depleted Uranium Munitions, our veterans and their families are facing some of the greatest battles of their lives and support is needed now more than ever before.
