Many of our veterans who served their country and made many sacrifices on our behalf remain silent over the loss of dignity they experience on a daily basis. Not only are these heroes scarred from many battles in war, but they continue to suffer from the worst form of human emotion-That of indifference.
It seems that many people who enjoy their freedoms today because of the sacrifices made yesterday, today and tomorrow are not fully appreciated.
Did you know that there are veterans who served our nation honorably that are jobless, homeless, penniless, broken and in pain because of such indifference? In this economic climate, it is easy for individuals to think only about themselves, but this is not right thing to do. We must always remember our brothers and sisters who served our great nation and helped to protect our great society.
We must no longer think of only ourselves, we must make sacrifices too. If you claim to be Christian, if you claim to be a patriot, then you must not remain indifferent to the suffering and hardship of others, especially veterans who gave so much, yet they have so little.
Yes, it is important to give-Remember; God loves a cheerful giver. You will also benefit by knowing how much your small donation is appreciated. Because of your donation, a veteran will be able to have supper, go to the dentist, sleep in a shelter and receive medical care. Please give, and please give generously. Take the time to give back and for your own mortal soul, do not become indifferent to others.
