AMERICAN VETERANS AID FUND: OUR HEROES NEED YOUR HELP TODAY!

American Veterans Aid Fund (AVAF)  http://americanveteransaidfund.com/index.shtml  , a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, was established as part of the American Veterans Aid family of companies to assist veterans and their families in obtaining and maintaining the respect, dignity, and honor earned through their service and sacrifice. AVAF has a relationship with veterans, their families, and veteran organizations based upon mutual regard and shared visions for a better tomorrow as well as common interests and values.

What defines our character as veterans is the bond formed through our military service and that bond follows us into civilian life. It is because of this special connection that we are sensitive to the reality that other veterans may not be as fortunate as ourselves and therefore may need assistance beyond what government funds and programs are available or can provide.

At AVAF, we recognize that this is an unprecedented time in the history of veterans in the United States. A rapidly aging veteran population from World War II and Korea presents unique challenges today, especially in terms of medical and housing (assisted living) needs.

Combat does not end when one leaves the battlefield. From Vietnam to the Iraq, Agent Orange to Depleted Uranium Munitions, our veterans and their families are facing some of the greatest battles of their lives and support is needed now more than ever before.

Corporal Joseph S. Tremblay 3-25 Battalion, 4th Marine Division United States Marine Corps Memorial Scholarship Fund

It is with great humility and an even greater honor for the American Veterans Aid Fund that Lawrence Tremblay, Sr., Father of Cpl. Joseph S. Tremblay, USMC, KIA-Iraq, has allowed us to pay tribute to his son and all fallen heroes through the establishment of this education/scholarship fund in his hero son's name.

About Corporal Joseph S. Tremblay: Joseph was born on November 13, 1981 in Ridgewood, NJ to Lawrence Tremblay, Sr., and Tina Marie Remo. He graduated in 1999 from Newburgh Free Academy and also attended Orange County Community College.

Joseph joined the Marine Corps just after graduation from the Academy in 1999 and completed a four-year tour. He remained in the Marines Reserve and signed up for active duty when the call went out for volunteers. During his tour of duty, he served in Hawaii, Japan, and Australia.

His beloved family and friends are proud of his dedication in the service of our country. He stands for freedom, honor, and dignity. His memory remains forever!
