Amanda’s Army (JDRF) Joined by Pony Express M.C. and Saturday Night Cruisers Car Club in The Fight for a Cure

Amanda’s Army (JDRF) Joined by Pony Express M.C. and Saturday Night Cruisers Car Club in The Fight for a Cure

Poker run, bike/car show benefits Juvenile Diabetes Fight

New Windsor, New York, June 31, 2009 – Amanda’s Army joined Pony Express M.C., Hudson Valley Chapter 3, and the Saturday Night Cruisers Car Club on a rare sunny and warm day, Sunday, June 28, 2009, raising $4000.00 in the fight against Juvenile Diabetes.

Moroney’s Cycle was the venue for the poker run start that ended at Orange County New York’s Thomas Bull Memorial Park with a bike/car show, music and barbeque.

"We continue to be blessed by people that don't even know us and yet are so willing to help Amanda's Army raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. After spending time with The Pony Express at the Poker Run, now when we see a motorcycle pass by we find ourselves smiling," said the Molloy family.

CROSSROADS CUSTOM RIDES at the invitation of the Saturday Night Cruisers Car Club, participated with The Marine Corps Tribute Bike and The Simon Kirke Signature Series, Gold Star Parents Edition, United States—United Kingdom Veterans Tribute Bike with Matching Southern Fried Guitar on display.

“The Marine Corps Tribute Bike and the US-UK Goldstar Parents Tribute Bike are never placed in competition,” said Lawrence Tremblay, Sr. However with prior permissions granted The Simon Kirke Signature Series, Gold Star Parents Edition, United States—United Kingdom Veterans Tribute Bike with Matching Southern Fried Guitar was entered by Amanda Molloy’s St. Thomas of Canterbury classmates and friends in support of Amanda’s Army; winning the Peoples Choice trophy.

Amanda and her friends will be presenting the trophy to their school for display. CROSSROADS CUSTOM RIDES had previously named Amanda’s Army (JDRF) as one of the charitable organizations they support.

A special opportunity and treat for those joining the fight to find a cure was the Official AMANDA’S ARMY ROCKIN 4 THE CURE GUITAR that was donated by Amanda’s St. Thomas of Canterbury classmates and friends. The Sky Blue Slammer Guitar was made possible by the great support of Van Gelder Music Center in Monroe, New York. “The guitar auction was not previously announced to ensure that true supporters of Amanda’s Army  received the guitar, not memorabilia collectors,” said Amanda’s Army supporter Greg Kelly of K2 GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS LLC.

Taz, of Saturday Night Cruisers Car Club took the guitar home from auction with a high bid of $260.00. The guitar bears the autographs of Amanda Molloy’s St. Thomas of Canterbury classmates and friends, Legendary Musician, Simon Kirke (FREE & BAD CO), Lawrence Tremblay, Sr., (CROSSROADS CUSTOM RIDES), Rock Icon, Caroline Purr, Hudson Valley Groove Man, Zeb Kandros (DEEP CHEMISTRY), Legendary Musician, Eric Bloom (BLUE OYSTER CULT) and Corinne Trang (AWARD WINNING CULINARY ARTS AUTHOR/CHEF).

2009 SUMMER GIVING DROP OFF EARLY THIS YEAR!

2009 SUMMER GIVING DROP OFF EARLY THIS YEAR!

Ever wonder why we can spend literally trillions of dollars on "Foreign Aid" and yet not honor the moral and social contract America has with our Veterans?

Why the "Foreign Aid" goes right into the bank accounts of despots that support anti-American Terrorism and programs?

Why entire United Nations "Designated" Political Refugee Populations planted here in the US enjoy free housing, education, medical and collect a SALARY FOR LIFE while our Veterans die from lack of medical care and go homeless?

American Veterans Aid Fund (AVAF), a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, was established to assist veterans and their families in obtaining and maintaining the respect, dignity, and honor earned through their service and sacrifice. AVAF has a relationship with veterans, their families, and veteran organizations based upon mutual regard and shared visions for a better tomorrow as well as common interests and values.

American and British Brothers/Sisters-in-Arms Honored on Local Stage with International Tribute by St. Thomas of Canterbury School First Graders

American and British Brothers/Sisters-in-Arms Honored on Local Stage with International Tribute by St. Thomas of CanterburySchool First Graders

In Support of Rolling Thunder® Chapter 3 New York, STOC Students Recite Soldiers Poem to Open Performance of Legendary Musicians for Veterans on 65th Anniversary of D-Day

Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, June 11, 2009 - June 4th through the 7th, 2009, at StewartInternationalAirport in New Windsor, New York, Rolling Thunder® Inc., Chapter 3 New York, hosted the American Veterans Traveling Tribute, which contains numerous memorials to soldiers of all American conflicts, and includes an 80%-size replica of the Vietnam Wall Memorial in Washington, DC. On Saturday afternoon, June 6th, the St. Thomas of Canterbury School First Graders turned out to support Rolling Thunder’s mission to pay tribute and honor America’s fallen sons and daughters represented on The Wall, those on the Tribute’s Iraq-Afghanistan memorial (represented by names on gold dog tags), and soldiers and veterans of both nations.

“You will never comprehend what it was like to support Rolling Thunder ® Chapter 3 NY’s Tribute and Honor for veterans, beyond description by mere words, an event that I will never forget,” said Simon Kirke of FREE and BAD COMPANY. “To have first graders from St. Thomas of Canterbury School understand and recite a fairly adult, emotionally intense soldiers poem, on the occasion of the 65th Anniversary of D-DAY, in tribute to our US-UK Troops/Veterans, not only speaks volumes about the education and character of the students and their school, but also the amazing character and honor that is a common trait among the members of Rolling Thunder® Chapter 3 NY.”

With an acoustic guitar donated by Van Gelder Music Center located in Monroe, NY, the St. Thomas of Canterbury students created their ‘Miss Gloria Guitar’, in honor of Gloria Sorci of Rolling Thunder® Chapter 3 NY, an elementary school teacher, and a great friend of children and veterans. The guitar was autographed on stage on the 6th by the students, Miss Gloria, and the evenings’ legendary performers Simon Kirke, Larry Oakes and Caroline Purr, and it will soon be put up for auction by the Chapter, with proceeds going to a veterans’ child in need.

On behalf of St. Thomas of Canterbury School, Simon Kirke, Larry Oakes, and Caroline Purr, we wish to recognize and thank everyone that supported Rolling Thunder® Chapter 3 NY with its historic veterans tribute event in the Hudson Valley, but, most of all, we thank all those that served their country, some of whom were wounded or even gave their lives for freedom, and all veterans for their continued fidelity to their nation.

Amanda’s Army Fight Against Juvenile Diabetes

Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, June 11, 2009 – Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Amanda’s Army the students of St. Thomas of Canterbury School, at a recent ice cream social, bought Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Sneakers resulting in a donation total of $151.75 to help find a cure.

Sacrifice, Honor, Celebration Hallmarks of Rolling Thunder® Inc., Chapter 3, New York's Hosted Historic June 4-7, 2009 Veterans Event

Sacrifice, Honor, Celebration Hallmarks of Rolling Thunder® Inc., Chapter 3, New York's Hosted Historic June 4-7, 2009 Veterans Event

10th Annual "Salute to Veterans Ride," American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) and 65th Anniversary WWII D-Day highlights of Hudson Valley Veterans Event!

Newburgh, NY (PRWEB) April 13, 2009 - The members and supporters of Rolling Thunder® Inc., Chapter 3, New York (www.rtnych3.com) invite you to come and celebrate the sacrifice and honor of our military veterans and their families at the American Veterans Traveling Tribute (http://www.avtt.org/Wall_5_29_07.html). To reflect on how much our military veterans have given to and preserved for us, and to shake the hands of all veterans they meet and thank them for their service - you can bet that the members of Rolling Thunder will!

News Image

"This year, the Hudson Valley celebrates 400 years since Henry Hudson's Half Moon first sailed the river's waters. It's been an intimate witness to both the American and Industrial Revolutions, the growth of farming and commercial interests, and every development in ground, water and air transportation that exists. It was also, in many ways, home to numerous military bases and personnel over the last two centuries. With so much in the way of military and VA hospital cutbacks in recent decades, and with the passing of so many military veterans from WWII and Vietnam, the presence and importance of military veterans in the Hudson Valley has diminished significantly." Said Dave Hansen President, Rolling Thunder® Inc., Chapter 3, New York. "Recognizing this, the veterans-support organization Rolling Thunder® Inc., Chapter 3 NY, invited one of our country's numerous 'Traveling Walls' (replicas of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, DC) to the area to help recognize, remember and honor those military veterans who reside in the Valley. The 'Traveling Wall' is actually just the centerpiece of a display - the "American Veterans Traveling Tribute" - that's a collection of memorials dedicated to the veterans of all of our country's conflicts."

This 'Tribute' will be in our area from June 4th thru the 7th, at the former Stewart Air Force Base, now known as Stewart International Airport, in New Windsor, New York.

The hours the 'Tribute' will be open, and free to the public, are 3pm to 10pm on Thursday, June 4th (the event's opening ceremony will be at 3pm), and from 8am to 10pm each day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday, June 6th, is the 65th anniversary of WWII's D-Day, and it will be recognized as such during that day's ceremonies.

Rolling Thunder® Inc., Chapter 3, New York's 10th Annual "Salute to Veterans Ride" will take place Sunday, June 7th, at the 2nd Aviation hangar on 1st St. Registration: 8am-10am, leave 10:30am; $20 per rider, $10 per passenger; ride down thru West Point USMA, short memorial service in Highland Falls, returns to food, drink, music, speakers, military vehicle/aircraft display, 'Ride Of Honor' past the Traveling Wall at 3pm.

The entire 'Traveling Tribute' exhibition will be held the three days prior to, and during, our "Salute To Veterans Ride & Expo", Sunday, June 7th. Last year's 'Ride and Expo' attracted more than 600 motorcyclists and many visitors, with more expected in 2009.

"Rolling Thunder® Inc., Chapter 3, New York has always been faithful to our veterans and their families, "said Goldstar Parent Lawrence Tremblay, Sr., "It is our turn to support them. I will have The Marine Corps Tribute Bike (http://www.marinecorpstributebike.com/) and The Simon Kirke Signature Series, Gold Star Parents Edition, United States--United Kingdom Veterans Tribute Bike with Matching Southern Fried Guitar (http://americanveteransaidfund.com/donationpx.shtml) on site fulfilling their tribute missions and in support of the men and women of Rolling Thunder® Inc., Chapter 3, New York that I hold the greatest respect and love for."

You can be a hero! We are looking to cover a significant portion of the expenses of the 'Traveling Tribute' exhibition by creating an advertising/daily schedule journal, that will be given to every visitor to the event. This journal will be 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" in size (1/2 of normal office printer paper), and one page will be divided into as many as eight available ad spaces, suitable for business-card copy. Full-page ads will be priced at $500, half-pages at $250, quarter pages at $125, and a business-card-copy area will go for $75. In addition to these ads, we will have an unlimited number of pages of 'supporter/booster' entries, limited to two lines of text each, for $25. Ad purchasers contributing more than $500 will be noted as 'major sponsors', and recognized as such with their name on a special panel at the event. To place an ad, please contact us at the above address, or Rolling Thunder® Inc., Chapter 3, New York's member Paul Tompkins at E-mail: eagle12590 (at) yahoo (dot) com or Telephone: (845) 297-5073.
